Care Ministries
Care Ministries exists to provide physical care, spiritual care, and encouragement for all Chapel members and friends during times of special need. Our Care staff as well as our 116 hospital visitation volunteers, our 56 deacons and their wives, and our 55 volunteers visiting shut-ins provide excellent ministries. All calls for Care should be directed to the Care office.

Other Help:
Baptism—We can help you through every step of baptism, including baptism orientation. Baptism orientation is held on the third Sundays at noon: Green Campus, Prayer Room; Akron Campus, Prayer/Harvest Room. These sessions are intended for those in grade 7–adult (grades 1–6, contact

Care Deacons —The care deacon ministry is managed through Care Ministries.
Communion—Communion is held the first Sunday of every month. We offer gluten-free bread at each welcome center.
Grief Share—Tuesdays, March 17–June 16, 2009, 6:45–8:30pm, Room 200/201 (Akron Campus). A program for adults experiencing loss. Jump in any time. Registration preferred. Cost is $12 (includes workbook). Contact .
Ladies' Prayer Chain—Five days per week, call one or two other women to share prayer requests. Contact .
Visitation—We provide prayer with a pastor before surgery, daily hospital visitation by a pastor or a visitation team, and regular visitation of the elderly and shut-ins (those confined to their homes). If you or a loved one would like a visit, contact .

Support Groups
People have needs and burdens of all varieties. The Chapel offers support groups that can help with many different struggles. If you are dealing with a burden or a struggle, please let us help you.

Career Connection—First and third Wednesdays, January 21–May 20, 7:00–8:30pm, Administrative Classroom (Akron Campus). Career Connection® is a support program dedicated to serving, supporting and encouraging anyone who is experiencing a career transition. Contact .
Celebrate Recovery—Thursdays, 6:30–8:30pm, Room 263 (Akron Campus). For those struggling with addictions. Come experience strength, hope and encouragement along with the practical tools God and others provide for us. Celebrate Recovery also offers a program called Proven Steps, in which men and women meet together then break in to small groups Tuesdays, 7:00–900pm, Rooms 260/261. Contact .

Fibromyalgia Support Group—Second Tuesdays (March–November), 5:30pm, Fellowship Hall (Akron Campus). Contact .
Financial Counseling Ministry—Provides information and direction for personal money management. Our team of counselors are certified through Crown Financial Ministries. Our teachings are based on biblical principles. Contact .
Food Closet Ministry—Provides help to those struggling to make monthly financial obligations. Contact .
Genesis Support Group—An anonymous, confidential group that provides Bible-based help for men and women who wish to find freedom from homosexuality. Oasis—Second and fourth Wednesdays, 6:45–8:15pm, Room 117 (Akron Campus). A support group for parents of children with disabilities. Designed to care for the caregivers, offering physical, emotional, and spiritual renewal from the unique challenges and demands you face. (Does not meet during the summer or in December.) Contact .
Parents of Prodigals (POPs)—Third Tuesdays, 7:00pm, Great Commission Room (Akron Campus). Encouragement and support for parents with wayward teens and adult children. Contact .

ReBuilders Divorce Recovery Group—Thursdays beginning May 21, 2009, 7:00pm, Berean Room (Akron Campus). A support group for those dealing with unwanted divorce. Meets year-round except for a break during the Divorce Recovery Workshop (September 3–October 8, 2009). Download the brochure. Contact .

Through the Roof Ministries—Mark 2—doing whatever it takes to bring people to Jesus. Ministry outreach includes: Encouraging Encounters local outreach with those affected by disabilities; Strength of Heart, the speaking ministry of Shanda Lynn Grubb; Integrate into My World, Christian therapy, work, and leadership training for those with disabilities; TTRM Reach Out, providing Bibles and durable medical equipment (an international affiliate of Joni and Friends).
