Mike Castelli, Green Campus Pastor

Mike serves as the campus pastor at the Green Campus. His responsibilities include preaching, teaching, and the oversight of specialized adult equipping.

He joined the Chapel staff in 2000 after working for 12 years at the NASA Glenn Research Center, where he held the position of senior research engineer.

In his spare time Mike enjoys family time, reading, and bike riding.

He and his wife, Terri, have two children, Elise and Joseph, and reside in Green. Contact Mike.

Jon Platek, Akron Campus Pastor

Having grown up here at The Chapel, Jon Platek joined our staff in 2009 as the Akron Campus Pastor and oversees the areas of Specialized Care and Support.

Jon is a graduate of Taylor University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Prior to his arrival on staff here, he served for 11 years at Parkside Church, overseeing the areas of men’s and women’s ministries as well as web development.

Jon lives in Tallmadge with his wife, Chrissy, and their three children, Christian, Gavin, and London. Contact Jon.

Zac Derr, Wadsworth Campus Pastor

Zac Derr and his wife, Hilary, joined our team upon the completion of Zac’s internship with Pastor Larson and a brief detour with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL. He became Wadsworth’s campus pastor in 2010 and oversees our Chapel Kids’ Ministry.

Zac earned an undergraduate degree in emergency management from The University of Akron and a master’s degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

A Pittsburgh native, Zac is a Steelers fan and enjoys reading, home improvement projects, riding his motorcyle, and gardening with Hilary. They live in Wadsworth with their three small children, Jillian Davy, Andrea and Abram. Contact Zac.
