To Equip and Empower
“To equip our people to imitate Christ and to empower them to be missional here, there, and everywhere.”
That is God’s calling to us at The Chapel. We depict it as a stained glass window, the “Sanctuary,” as we do the sacred work of equipping, preparing one another for life through loving and teaching. And we depict it with an image of the “Airport.” For we realize that our destination is not the church, but the manifold places of our vocations, our families, and our neighbors.
So many words of thanks and stories from the “stained glass” experiences of the past Easter week. The encouragements and the challenges that came from the Seder meal and the Annie Moses Band and the film, MOST … a week of vital equipping tools for the Chapel family.
Now I want to turn our attention to the airport, albeit the domestic terminal. On May 8, Project Homeless Connect will again be hosted on our Akron campus. A great opportunity to put your faith to work in a missional way on behalf of those who need our tangible, Christ-like love. Please consider volunteering on that day and serving as a chaperone, an intake person, helping with food service, or other important tasks. Consider it a one-day missions trip. Consider it a cup of cold water in Jesus’ name. To learn more or volunteer, click here.
