International Student Ministry

The Chapel offers many opportunities to love and serve international students and their families. If you are an international person who is studying or working in the Akron, Ohio area, you will discover many programs, services, and events to help you as you live out your experience here in the United States.

We have the following activities for internationals that occur during the fall and spring university semester at The Chapel:

  • Internationals Friday Night Dinners, every Friday at 6:30pm
  • English Classes for Internationals, every Monday & Wednesday mornings at 9:30am and Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm (start and end according to UA’s fall and spring semesters)
  • International Women’s Fellowship, every Thursday at 10:30am
  • Internationals Bible Fellowship, every Sunday at 2:30pm at the University of Akron’s Student Union Starbucks
  • Additional Bible studies at International’s website
  • And fun trips and events throughout the year!

International Congregations at The Chapel

There are multiple congreations that meet at The Chapel’s Akron Campus for Sunday worship as well as Bible studies and other special activities in their own native language.

Donations

The Chapel Internationals is very grateful for those who are willing to donate things for International students. We are looking for the following furniture items: Twin beds, desks, desk chairs, couches or small sofas (love seats are preferred), end tables, kitchen tables and chairs, living room chairs and kitchen supplies (utensils, pots, pans, glasses, dishes, and cups).

We will take the furniture that is donated and give it away to internationals so that we can help many new Internationals that arrive in Akron Ohio with no furniture for their apartment or rental home. We do not take anything you plug in or electronics (no computers, TVs, stereos, phones, appliances, etc.).

If you want to donate some furniture please email Todd. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt for your donation.
