What does membership mean?

We’re delighted that you’re interested in Chapel membership! This signifies that you believe in the direction we are going as a church body and you want to be in partnership with us.

The Chapel is a family of believers in Jesus Christ—Christ-followers who, together, make up what is called a “local church.” Therefore, becoming a Chapel covenant member means crossing the line from being a spectator or attendee to being a committed member. You are letting pastors and other members know that you intend to be committed to our values of Worship, Community and Mission which is shown through your attendance, prayer, giving and service.

Chapel membership is more than just having your name on a list. Being a covenant member indicates a willingness to partner and potentially lead with us in our mission to encourage others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. People can belong to our body of believers and know that they are under the accountability of a church with Christ as the head and shepherd. The Scriptures are central for our guidance.

Easy steps to becoming a Chapel covenant-member

  • Attend Foundations of Faith class or listen to the audio version
  • Take part in a "Get2KnowU" appointment with a Chapel pastor or staff member
  • Register for and attend a one-session membership class
  • Be publicly received into covenant-membership during the worship service you attend

When's the next class?

The class is a one-session class on either a Tuesday night or a Saturday morning. You will enjoy a meal together with other new members and hear teaching from our Senior Pastor, Paul Sartarelli, and our Campus Pastors, Mike Castelli (Green Campus) and Jon Platek (Akron Campus).
