Care Ministries

Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” (John 21:16)

Care Ministries exists to provide physical care, spiritual care, and encouragement for all Chapel members and friends during times of special need.

Our Care staff as well as 116 hospital visitation volunteers, 56 deacons and their wives and 55 volunteers visiting shut-ins provide excellent ministries.

All calls for Care can be directed to the Care Office, Shirley, 330.315.5465.

Baptism

We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. (Romans 6:4)

Classes for ages 10 years to adults held 2nd and 3rd Sundays of January, May, and September from 9:00-10:00am. Pre- registration is required. Contact Shirley, 330.315.5465.

Communion

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Communion is held the first Sunday of every month. We offer gluten-free bread at:  The Akron Campus North Lobby Guest credenzas, Fir Hill Welcome Center and Resonate Service Foyer.  The Green Campus Atrium Welcome Center.

Visitation

Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. (James 5:14)

We provide prayer with a pastor before surgery, daily hospital visitation by a pastor or a visitation team, and regular visitation of the elderly and shut-ins (those confined to their homes). If you or a loved one would like a visit, contact Shirley, 330.315.5465.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you would like to be trained to be on one of our visitation teams, contact Shirley, 330.315.5465.
