Leadership Summit

Whether you’re a seasoned leader, or you want to explore your leadership potential, come to The Leadership Summit Thursday and Friday, August 7–8 (Green Campus). The Fountain Baptism

Our Fountain Baptism Service will be held Sunday, August 17, 2:30pm, at Camp Carl. Pre-baptismal counseling is required. For grade 7–adult, contact Billie. Grade 6 and under, contact Deb.

Boston Missions Trip

Our 8th graders are having a fantastic time in Boston. With 68 total people serving there, amazing things are happening every day as they interact with people. You can read some of their stories and see some pictures at the Ehko web site.

Chapel Community Service

July 22—Through The Roof Disability Ministry needs help loading about 200 wheelchairs into a semi-truck. Meet at their warehouse, 711 Johnston Street in Akron, at 5:30pm.

July 25–27—Exterior house painting project in Cuyahoga Falls. If you can scrape paint and/or paint, we need you!

Imagine Unity will sponsor an evening at the Akron Aeros baseball game for fathers and sons and men and boys Tuesday, August 12, at 7:00pm. A 15-minute "assembly of unity" will be held on the field after the game including a challenge from Bishop Johnson and Pastor Larson. Tickets are $3 and are available at the Fir Hill Welcome Center (Akron Campus) and the Resource Center (Green Campus). Download the flyer.

Imagine Unity is a new alliance of six church organizations, including The Chapel. Its goal is to promote Christian and racial unity and harmony, to speak about love, and to model reconciliation and unity. Visit our Imagine Unity page.

Alyssa's Hike

Alyssa’s Fourth Annual Hike for the Hearts will be Saturday, September 20, 10:00am–1:00pm, at Goodyear Metropolitan Park on Newton Street in Akron.

So far, Alyssa’s Hike has raised $67,900 to find a cure for viral myocarditis and to fund camperships to Camp Carl. Over 350 children have received camperships, and 10 of them have come to know Christ at Camp Carl.

Alyssa Ann Calaway was a Chapel kid who died September 12, 2002, of viral myocarditis. Join us for this family event. Register by August 31 to receive a free T-shirt. Visit the Alyssa’s Hike Web site.
