Wow! Has it really been ten years? Time to celebrate.

Saturday, June 1, 11:00am – 3:00pm

Rain date: June 8

Here’s everything you need to know:

So, what’s this picnic all about anyway?

On June 1, 2003, The Chapel’s Green Campus opened its doors for the first time. This year, we celebrate ten years of ministry in Green, and we want you to join us for the celebration.

Sounds good. When’s this thing happening?

Fittingly, we’re holding the 10-year-anniversary celebration on the actual 10-year-anniversary. Join us at the Green Campus on Saturday, June 1, from 11:00am – 3:00pm. In the event of inclement weather, June 8 is the rain date.

Where do I go when I get there?

You can enter through either entrance on Raber Road. We’re hosting the activities in Parking Lots B & C, so there won’t be any parking available in those two lots. But don’t worry. We’ve got plenty of other spaces to park—just circle around the building until you find the first available lot. We will send a shuttle around the campus periodically to shorten the walking distance.

Will you have anything for me to eat?

Of course! It wouldn’t be a picnic without good food, would it? Chapel Community Service will be manning the grills and serving up hamburgers and hot dogs, along with chips, watermelon, snow cones, cookies, and lemonade. And you can leave your wallet at home – lunch is on us!  (Please be aware that foods prepared in our kitchen may come into contact with nuts, eggs, gluten, dairy, and/or soy products.)

What kind of activities will there be?

We’re planning to have a bounce house, jumbo inflatable slide, balloon twisting, face painting, caricatures, live entertainment, and more! And, of course, it’s all free. Just come and enjoy.

Will you have restrooms and/or diaper changing stations available?

Yes. The building will be open so that guests may use the indoor restrooms (which are equipped with diaper changing stations!).

What do I have to bring?

You don’t have to bring a thing. You’re welcome to just show up and we’ll take care of it all. If you’d like, feel free to bring a lawn chair or a picnic blanket. You’re also welcome to bring a Frisbee, a cornhole set, or some other lawn game to play with friends and family, if you want to. (But don’t worry if you don’t have anything like this—there will be plenty for you to do!)

Is there anything I can do to help?

If you’re offering, we’re accepting! There are plenty of ways for you to get involved.

  • We’re accepting donations of bottled water—you can drop these off at the café anytime.
  • We’re also looking for folks who’d like to help on the day of the picnic. We need everyone from grillers to greeters.

Find the perfect job for you and sign up here!

And finally, you can help us spread the word to everyone you know! Grab a stack of postcards at any welcome desk and hand them out to your friends and neighbors, or email Melissa for a digital file that can be shared online via email or social media!

And you’re sure I don’t have to pay for any of this?

Absolutely. This picnic is 100% free to all of our guests. All we ask in return is that you bring your friends or family and have a great time.
